Transfer station
Through the development of regional landfills in many settlements, a need for transfer stations that will substitute the existing inadequate-unsanitary landfills has emerged.
Collected waste is not disposed to a landfill, but with the help of transfer stations gets placed and pressed into large abroll containers and transferred to a regional sanitary landfill or recycling plant. In this way, the volume of waste as well as the number of garbage truck departures to a landfill is being reduced, and accordingly huge savings in petrol and money are achieved.
A transfer station consists of:
- approach ramp with weighing scales for waste measurement and a compactor press for waste compression,
- railway tracks with a movable tram.
Abroll containers, whose number depends on the size of a settlement, are placed on tracks.
